I usually teach Novel Writing, Level I (CWWR 420) at the Chang School of Ryerson University in the fall and spring terms, on Monday nights from 6:30-9:00.
The course includes thoughtful discussion of the elements of novel writing: inspiration and the sustaining of ideas, plotting, setting, character, and point of view. Students will receive feedback on their work from both the class and the teacher. Students will learn how to build a novel outline and how to write scenically. The goal is for each student to leave the course with at least one good chapter to build upon.
Beginning writers are welcome!
